I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
