Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
